High praise for NECBS' UNIVERGE SV7000

NEC Business Solutions' UNIVERGE?#8222;? SV7000 has been rated as one of the top IP-telephony systems in the enterprise marketplace by reputed independent US reviewer Miercom*.

Miercom gave the UNIVERGE?#8222;? SV7000 a rating of 89 out of 100, saying that in all areas measured ?#8364;“ call-load handling, survivability and redundancy ?#8364;“ the results were exceptional. "The system meets or exceeds the industry-average scores of all other IP-PBXs tested in all categories,'' the review said.

The UNIVERGE?#8222;? SV7000 fuses existing NEC technologies with dynamic advancements in software and hardware design. With more than 700 service features that enhance productivity, reduce operating costs, and improve communications efficiency, the
SV7000 combines innovative hardware and software that allows organisations to grow from 1 to more than 6000 ports.

NEC Business Solutions' Product and Solutions Manager, Mark Tatham-Thompson, said:

Miercom's key findings were:

* The UNIVERGE?#8222;? SV7000 met or exceeded industry ratings in all categories
* Security capabilities are solid and end-to-end
* SIP is supported natively with clean and seamless interoperability with legacy equipment
* Performance in all areas measured was exceptional

NEC's UNIVERGE?#8222;? SV7000 sets the benchmark for sophisticated design, distributed processing, sensible migration, comprehensive network solutions and the ability to customise functionality to match specific business applications.

"With more than 30 years experience within Australia in voice communication, NEC knows exactly what businesses need from their telephony system to succeed," said Mr Tatham-Thompson.

NEC Unified Solutions engaged Miercom in the United States to independently review the SV7000 which it did based on Miercom's rigorous high-end IP-PBX methodology.

"Among the more notable aspects of the NEC system were survivability, the CommPortal application and SIP protocol and phone support,'' the report said.

"In conclusion, Miercom's view is that the UNIVERGE?#8222;? SV7000 has proven to be a full-featured, SIP-enabled telephony system, coupled with a compelling productivity-enhanced application suite.''
