UNIVERGE?#8222;? SV7000 MPS
Multiple Purpose System
The UNIVERGE SV7000 MPS is based upon NEC's current
UNIVERGE?#8222;? architecture and delivers a product that is
primarily targeted towards the pure IP Telephony
Small/Medium Business (SMB) market place. This new
product addresses the needs of customers that want a
server-based product in the 50-500 IP client
small/medium business segments. The UNIVERGE SV7000 MPS
delivers!
The UNIVERGE SV7000 MPS provides the ability to combine
converged architecture applications, such as Unified
Communications, Presence, Collaboration, Softphones,
etc. This is all in addition to delivering standard
telephony features.
The unique aspects of the UNIVERGE SV7000 MPS include
the ability to configure the MPS components to create
either a stand-alone system or use the chassis and
interface cards as media gateways and/or media
converters with a standard UNIVERGE SV7000 or UNIVERGE
NEAX 2400 IPX system. This allows the components to
serve multiple purposes. Customers can now deploy the
product in flexible configurations that depends upon
their needs.
NEC continues to take IP Telephony to the next level by
using peer-to-peer switching in the SV7000 MPS. This
capability allows the SV7000 MPS to provide all of
NEC's networking services and Dterm telephone features
when deployed over an IP network.
Peer-to-peer switching means the stations participating
in a call are connected directly to each other through
the IP network. The voice signals travel through the IP
network but do not "go through" the switch as they do in
traditional telephony.
NEC's sophisticated design, distributed processing,
sensible migration, comprehensive network solutions and
the ability to customize functionality to match specific
business applications are just a few of the NEC
benchmarks that the UNIVERGE SV7000 MPS builds upon.
The UNIVERGE SV7000 MPS provides over 440 service
features that enhance productivity, reduce operating
costs, and improve communications efficiently.
Innovative hardware and software design allows the
UNIVERGE SV7000 MPS to serve efficiently and grow
incrementally over its entire size spectrum, ranging
from 50 ports to 1,000 ports.
The SV7000 MPS has the ability to expand from its
minimum configuration to its maximum capacity with
virtually no loss of existing hardware. This unique
expansion capability allows the system to grow in a
cost-effective manner as the user's requirements grow.
By serving as the controller of an integrated
information network, the UNIVERGE SV7000 MPS is able to
integrate and enhance all forms of advanced information
processing and management services.
|The system also delivers advanced applications such as
CCIS and IP Networking, IP Stations, Remote Switching,
Voice Messaging Integration, along with many other
feature-rich capabilities via the Open Applications
Interface (OAI). This reflects the philosophy of NEC
Unified Solutions, Inc. to integrate Computer and
Communications (C&C) technology, and makes it possible
for the SV7000 MPS to provide both voice and non-voice
services.
Proprietary IP instruments (Dterm) may be provided to
increase system flexibility and eliminate the need for
conventional multiple line stations with their
associated control equipment and cable plant
requirements. In addition to the proprietary terminals,
SIP standard devices are also supported by the SV7000
MPS.
